Tae Kwon Do is South Korea's national sport. When translated into English, Tae Kwon Do means "The way of the foot and the fist." A fake side piercing kick to a sliding back fist is a technique used to distract an opponent when sparring.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set yourself in the guard position. Set your body at an angle with one foot in front of the other and arms raised in a defensive position.

  2. Step 2

Lift the front leg into the air with the leg straight and to the side. Bend the leg at the knee. This makes the opponent lower his arm and block the leg leaving the upper body of the opponent open.

  3. Step 3

Push forward off your back leg. This slides you toward the opponent. Land with the front foot on the ground.

  4. Step 4

Reach forward with your front arm bent. Hit the opponent in the side of the head with the side of your arm. Quickly pull your hand back into the defensive position.

  5. Step 5

Practice this combination one step at time until you are able to execute it at normal speed. At normal speed, the combination take 1 to 2 seconds to complete.
