If you are in the advanced stages of Taekwondo and want to practice your skills in offensive sparring techniques, there are plenty to choose from. The mid-air 180-degree reverse back-piercing kick is a great one to master.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Assess your ability to attack. Use this technique when your opponent crowds you or you don't have a lot of room to complete a move. Start in a crouch with knees bent slightly.

  2. Step 2

Jump straight up in the air, or jump up and away from your opponent. Do not kick off one foot. Instead, jump with both feet. Keep your arms close to your body to balance your center of gravity and to minimize resistance in the air.

  3. Step 3

Turn your body in the air to the left with your head turned over your left shoulder. This keeps your eyes on your opponent at all times so you know where to land your kick.

  4. Step 4

Lead with your left leg to kick your opponent, extending it out for the kick and back in for the landing. Use your right leg for momentum and balance on the landing.

  5. Step 5

Land on your right foot slightly behind you, followed by your left out in front. Land facing your opponent. Landing like this gives you the benefit of remaining in a fighting stance after completing the kick.
