Kickboxing is a dynamic workout that sculpts the body, works the muscles and boosts confidence. In advanced kickboxing, you can combine a variety of moves, such as punch combos with kicks. Practice this kickboxing combination with a full-sized punching bag or sparring partner. If practicing with a parter, use boxing gloves and proper padding.

From Quick Guide: Advanced Kickboxing
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin with your non-dominant shoulder leaning slightly into the punching bag or your sparring partner. Your knees should be slightly bent with your dominant leg 1 to 1 and 1/2 feet behind the other.

  2. Step 2

Bring your shoulders back. Throw two hooks to the body of your opponent or the punching bag at belly height, beginning with your dominant hand. Complete the four-punch combo with two fast, hard hooks at the head, again beginning with your dominant hand. Remember that your hooks will be more powerful if you keep your elbows tucked into your body.

  3. Step 3

Complete your hooks and quickly take two steps back. Bend slightly at the knees and perform a stomp kick. Kick straight out in front of you. Land your foot flat against the belly of your opponent or at belly level of your punching bag. Literally "stomp" as you kick. A roundhouse kick is a swinging kick; the stomp kick is more of a push.

  4. Step 4

Keep your fists in front of your face in a defensive position before, during and after the kick, in case your opponent retaliates.
