How to Pin the Fabric for Sewing Your Own Decorative Pillow

After you cut the fabric for a decorative pillow, it's time to sew it together. Pin the fabric together first to keep it from slipping while you sew. If you're using decorative trim or edging, the pinning process may need to be modified.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place your pillow sections right sides together. Make sure the edges and print on the fabric line up like you want, and gather your straight pins for pinning the edges.

  2. Step 2

Pin the edges of the pillow. Place the pins where they stick out from the edge, so you can easily remove them as you sew.

  3. Step 3

Pull the pins out as you sew around the edges of the pillow, leaving a small opening to turn the decorative pillow inside out and add the stuffing.

  4. Step 4

Turn your decorative pillow right side out and press the edges.
