How to Make Chocolate Glaze for a Vegan Chocolate Cake

For those that enjoy chocolate vegan desserts, it is simple to make chocolate glaze for a vegan chocolate cake. Adding chocolate glaze to a delicious cake makes the dessert even more special. This glaze tastes wonderful on strawberries, bananas or any other fruit. Use it warm as a fondue or dip the fruit into the melted chocolate and then chill it for a wonderful dessert.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Measuring cup
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing spoon
  • 12 oz. non-dairy chocolate chips
  • Sauce pan or double boiler
  • 3 tbsp. guava nectar or corn syrup
  • 6 tbsp. non hydrogenated margarine
  • 1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract
  1. Step 1

    Pour the chocolate chips into a sauce pan and place it on a burner over very low heat.

  2. Step 2

    Melt the chocolate chips, stirring often so they don't burn.

  3. Step 3

    Add the guava nectar, which adds a beautiful shine to the glaze.

  4. Step 4

    Cut up 6 tbsp. non-hydrogenated margarine into smaller pieces, so that it will melt quickly.

  5. Step 5

    Put the margarine into the saucepan with the melted chocolate and stir constantly to prevent the mixture from burning.

  6. Step 6

    Continue to stir until the chocolate and margarine blend together.

  7. Step 7

    Remove the pan from the heat and stir in 1 tbsp. of pure vanilla to complete this wonderful vegan chocolate glaze.

Tips & Warnings
  • Substitute 12 oz. of any non-dairy chocolate if chocolate chips are not available.
  • You can use a double boiler instead of the saucepan.
  • Be aware that chocolate will burn very quickly. Never leave it unattended when it is on the stove.
