You can make a beautiful flower just from using a few pieces of tissue paper and a pipe cleaner. This craft is perfect for children, but elegant enough for adults to complete.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • Green Pipe cleaner or chenille stem
  1. Step 1

Select the tissue paper you would like to use for the project. You can choose to use just one color, two colors or a different color for every layer of the flower.

  2. Step 2

Cut 4 to 6 rectangles of tissue paper, all the same size. These can be any size you want, but keep in mind that the larger you make the tissue paper squares, the larger the flower will be.

  3. Step 3

Stack the squares on top of each other and fold an accordion pleat from one of the longs sides of the tissue paper. You will be left with a long accordion pleat of tissue paper.

  4. Step 4

Wrap one end of a pipe cleaner or chenille stem around the center of the accordion pleat. Make sure that the pipe cleaner is secure, but not so tight that it is tearing the tissue paper.

  5. Step 5

Separate a layer of the tissue paper by gently bringing it up toward the middle of the flower and slightly smoothing the layer out to form a petal for your flower.

  6. Step 6

Continue to separate all of the layers to form petals in your flower. When you are finished, you will have a beautiful bloom of tissue paper with the pipe cleaner making up the stem of the flower.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't want a stem for your flower, you can use a twist tie to secure the accordion pleat so you can form a flower bloom without the stem.
