Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdrivers
  • Crate, barrel or old tire
  • 3 tire irons
  • Tray
  1. Step 1

Locate the master link on the motocross bike chain. Remove the chain. Do not lose the pieces when taking the chain off of the wheel. They are small and difficult to find.

  2. Step 2

Loosen the axle bolt on the wheel. Remove the axle from the wheel. Take the tire off of the bike.

  3. Step 3

Set the tire on an old car wheel, crate or barrel to make an easy work area. Press on the side wall of the tire, next to the rim to break the tire beading. Do this around the entire tire.

  4. Step 4

Remove the tube stem nut. Release any remaining air in the tire.

  5. Step 5

Use tire irons to remove the tire from the rim, on one side of the tire only. Put a lot of pressure on the irons, being careful not to damage the rims.

  6. Step 6

Pull up on the loosened tire. Put your hand inside the tire, and pull out the old tire tube.

  7. Step 7

Proceed by pumping a little air in the new tube and putting it around the rim inside the tire. Reassemble the tire on the wheel, fill the tube with air and replace it on the motocross bike.
