Things You'll Need:
- Marker
- Masking tape
- Goggles
- Particle mask
-
Step 1
Mark the angle you need to cut on the tile with a pencil or grease marker. You'll be cutting right over this line, so it will disappear as you cut, or you can wipe off remaining marks later. On dark or glass tile, place a strip of masking tape over the area you are going to mark to make it easier to see.
-
Step 2
Extend the guide rails out far enough so you can place the piece of tile at an angle on the saw table.
-
Step 3
Tie hair back and put on goggles and a particle mask before you cut.
-
Step 4
Turn on the saw and guide the piece of tile under the diamond tipped blade along the angle mark. Let the saw do the work and feed the tile into the saw slowly. If you push too hard, the blade will heat and wear out sooner.
-
Step 5
Slow down as you reach the end of the cut, or stop the saw about an inch from the end. Flip the tile around and start again on the uncut edge to avoid chipping the tile at the end of the cut.
