Most offices use fax machines. You may even use one at home or in your home office. Test your fax machine for quality by running a test print before the first use. Then you can see how your fax looks to the person receiving it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fax machine
  • Paper
  1. Step 1

Look at your fax machine. Most machines have a button on them that says "Menu." Check your owner's manual for your make and model machine to find out where exactly this is located on the machine.

  2. Step 2

Press the menu button. You should scroll through the available options that your machine offers. The plus button next to the menu button allows you to scroll the list of options.

  3. Step 3

Choose the option that says "test print" or "demo." Check your owner's manual to find out exactly what your machine calls it, but usually it will say one of these two options.

  4. Step 4

Push the start button on your fax machine. You should hear the machine start up. Make sure you have loaded paper in the machine.

  5. Step 5

Find your test print. The machine will print it out and it should come out the bottom and land in the tray.

  6. Step 6

Check the quality of the test print. If it is dirty, clean your machine. If it is too light or dark then make appropriate adjustments.

  7. Step 7

Run another test print. Begin sending faxes with confidence.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose high quality paper such as "bright white" for better quality faxes.
