Step 1
Approach the end of a rail at a comfortable speed, your toes in normal ollie position, front foot on top of the front bolts and back foot on top of the back bolts.
-
Step 2
Pop an ollie onto the rail so that the skateboard's trucks sit atop the rail, or "clips on" the rail. To do this, pop the tail with your back foot and bend your knees to pull the skateboard up so it gets enough air to land on top of the rail, metal trucks on metal rail.
-
Step 3
Keep your balance, not leaning too far forward or too far back, or to either side. During the slide to the end of the rail, you will be standing on top of your board just as if you were still skating on pavement.
-
Step 4
Exit the rail smoothly by either landing the front wheels on the pavement while leaning forward to pop the tail a little so it lands after the nose. You can also exit the rail by slightly lifting the board with your feet to get a little air off the rail and land both sets of wheels on the pavement at the same time.
