Step 1
Stand with one foot near the front of the skateboard and the other near the middle of the skateboard.
-
Step 2
Pop the front of your skateboard into the air by pressing down on your back foot.
-
Step 3
Move your front foot toward the front of the skateboard as you jump. This will help you even out your skateboard and allow you do land so that the skateboard is level.
-
Step 4
Make sure you land on the bolts or over the wheels of your skateboard as you land an Ollie because the area over the wheels is the strongest portion of your skateboard. You don't want to crack your skateboard in half as you're doing this or any trick.
-
Step 5
Keep your back foot over the wheels when you land an Ollie on a skateboard. If your back foot is on the tail when you land, there's a good chance that you could crack the tail. The same goes for the nose. Improper placement of your front foot spells disaster for your skateboard's nose.
-
Step 6
Work on combining all of the above movements so that when you land an Ollie on a skateboard, it is very smooth. This becomes even more important when you add rolling. Practice landing an Ollie on a skateboard a lot so that it becomes second nature.
-
Step 7
Roll as you are landing an Ollie on a skateboard. Getting the timing down to do the trick takes a little time, but soon you'll find it'll become easier to do. As you get better, add more and more height to your jump.
