Step 1
Start "Woman" by Wolfmother with an E power chord that's played on the seventh fret of the A string.
-
Step 2
Place the second finger on the A string on the 7th fret, the D string, 9th fret with your middle finger, and the G string, 9th fret with your fourth or ring finger of your left hand.
-
Step 3
Strum the strings downward with your pick. Make sure you hit the low E as well.
-
Step 4
Continue strumming the strings up and down with the pick while holding the power chord with your left hand.
-
Step 5
Play a riff by playing the low E on the 8th fret with your index finger, and hammering on the 7th fret with your third finger. Then play the 8th fret A string with your index finger.
-
Step 6
Repeat the process from the beginning. Strum three times up and down while playing the E power chord, then follow it with the riff. The pattern will sound like "strum-strum, strum-strum, strum-strum, DA, da, da, strum-strum, strum-strum, strum-strum, DA, da, da." Repeat the above pattern three times.
-
Step 7
Wrap the pattern up after you repeat the above steps twice by playing an A power chord.
-
Step 8
Place your index finger on the 5th fret of the E string, third finger on the 7th fret of the A string, and the third finger on the 7th fret of the D string. Strum once down with the pick.
-
Step 9
Move the fingers of your left hand down two frets and strum down once more.
-
Step 10
Give the last two chords more emphasis by holding them longer than the chords in the beginning of the song.
-
Step 11
Practice the patterns described slowly at first. By putting it altogether, you will begin to hear "Woman" by Wolfmother. Play the song to tempo and smile. You've just learned a really cool song.
