Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Locate the bridge saddle on the guitar. The bridge saddle is the metal strip located on the body of the Les Paul between neck and the bridge.
-
Step 2
Loosen the strings of the guitar to move the bridge. Twist the tuning pegs at the end of the neck to loosen the strings. This makes it easier to get to the screws on the bridge saddle.
-
Step 3
Unscrew the screws on the bridge saddle with a screwdriver or by hand. There is one screw on each end. Some bridge saddles have one knob screw on each end which you can turn by hand.
-
Step 4
Slide the bridge saddle down the guitar until the strings are lowered to the correct height. The further away from the neck the saddle is the lower the strings sit.
-
Step 5
Twist the tuning nods to tighten the strings back into place. The strings help hold the saddle in place while you secure it.
-
Step 6
Tighten the screws of the bridge saddle into place. The screws need to be tight against the body of the guitar to hold the saddle in place.
-
Step 7
Tune the Les Paul guitar with a piano or a tuner.
