How to Use the Sequencer on the Akai MPC 2000xl Drum Machine

The Akai MPC 2000xl drum machine is a powerful and useful tool for any recording studio. It allows you to put every sequence into whatever order you choose. You can either use the sequencer on the Akai MPC 2000xl to repeat certain sequences, or even make them as long as the length of the song.

Instructions

1. Enter the sequences into the sequencer on the Akai MPC 2000xl drum machine and label them how you wish, either by name or by number.

2. Choose a sequence on the Akai MPC 2000xl by highlighting it on the Akai MPC 2000xl drum machine.

3. Press "Shift" and then the song for which you wish to do the sequencing.

4. Turn the data wheel to the sequence that you want.

5. Go over to "Reps" and turn the data wheel on the Akai MPC 2000xl to choose the number of times that you want the sequence to repeat.

6. Press down on the wheel and go over to "Sequence."

7. Choose the next sequence, and then use the data wheel to enter the number of times you wish the sequence to repeat.

8. Use the sequencer on the Akai MPC 2000xl to decide how many times you want the song to loop, the tempo of the sequence or even delete the sequence or a choice that you made so you can re-input the number of repetitions.

9. Convert the sequence using the sequencer on the Akai MPC 2000xl. You can choose a different the mode for the song, covert the sequence into a song and even insert the sequence into a song.

10. Experiment with the sequencer on the Akai MPC 2000xl. In this way you can create new songs or complement existing songs.
