There's no such thing as fighting dirty when it comes to self defense. You have every right to protect yourself from an attacker. By using these techniques, you'll be able to drop any attacker and give yourself precious time to get away.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Identify vulnerable areas. No matter how big your attacker is, hitting him in the eyes, throat or groin will cause intense pain.

  2. Step 2

Strike the eyes first. The eyes are the easiest point to reach and striking him in the eyes will cause pain and temporary blindness. This will give you time to run away or to strike him in another area.

  3. Step 3

Use the side of your hand and hit the attacker in the throat. You may crush his windpipe if you hit hard enough and he won't be able to breathe.

  4. Step 4

Hit the attacker in the groin if you can get to it. It may be easier to use your knee, but if you're on the ground you can use your hand. Hitting the attacker in the groin will cause pain so intense that he may fall down, giving you time to run away.

  5. Step 5

Use your elbows, knees and the heel of your palm to strike your attacker. All of these will do injury to your attacker without hurting yourself.

  6. Step 6

Knock your attacker down once he's incapacitated. Step forward, grab his shoulders, kick him in the knee and throw him on the ground. Strike him in the eyes again if he looks like he could still get up.

  7. Step 7

Run away. Don't forget to yell as loud as you can to attract help.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid dangerous situations. Try not to walk in unsafe areas by yourself, especially at night. Carry pepper spray and a cell phone with you if you must travel by yourself.
  • The groin may be the most difficult area to strike because he might be expecting it. Focus on the eyes and throat.
  • Don't use a closed fist to strike your attacker because you might break a bone in your hand.
