How to Tie a Scarf Around the Neck

If you're searching for easy ways to spice up your existing wardrobe, then a scarf may be just what you're looking for. Tying a scarf around your neck can dress up or dress down an existing outfit to change the look.

Instructions

1. Determine which scarf you want to tie around your neck. Decide which outfit you will wear with the scarf, and be sure that the scarf coordinates with the outfit unless you are going for the miss-matched look intentionally.

2. Place the scarf on the back of your neck and drape the ends in front of you, over your shoulders. The scarf will now be in a horseshoe shape around your neck.

3. Take the right side of the scarf and throw it over the left shoulder. Be sure it is not draped too loosely around the neck, or simple movements can cause it to fall off your shoulder.

4. Wear the scarf draped over one shoulder or finish wrapping the right side around your neck completely, leaving the loose ends in the front of your shoulders again.

5. Tie the scarf in a loose knot or bow off to one side of your neck. This look can dress up a rather drab business suit. Pair the scarf with matching earrings or a bracelet.
