Step 1
Check under your vehicles for steel guides. These guides are what the brake pads ride on when you are driving. You can place the steel guide on the upper brakes, and it will slide in easily and clip into place. Be careful as they are made from extremely thin steel.
-
Step 2
Place the lower steel guide on the bottom and place carefully so that you do not damage the guide. Some vehicles do have these types of guides and some do not.
-
Step 3
Take the inward brake pad and place the trailing edge on the inner side of the rotor. You will notice that the inward brake pad has a wear indicator to let you know when they have been worn down.
-
Step 4
Place your outward brake pad on the outside of the rotor. Insert it carefully and make sure it is tight. Rotate the outward brake pad in, if needed to secure the rotor and pad.
-
Step 5
Make sure you place the return springs in the brake pads. Start with the upper area, then insert the lower spring. These springs can be mixed up as they are identical. They will keep the brake pad and rotor secure while driving.
