Your child can use pipe cleaners as fun tools to make a memorable art project. She can give her creation as a gift or keep it as a reminder of the time she spent at camp, scouts or one-on-one with you. Work with your child to make one of these delightful flowers, or make a whole bouquet.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pipe cleaners
  • Glue
  • Scrap fabric
  • Scissors
  • Sequins, pompoms, small beads or other decoration
  1. Step 1

Fold each pipe cleaner into a flower petal shape and twist the ends together. Make the twisted piece about 1-inch long so you can attach them later.

  2. Step 2

Glue the folded pipe cleaners to pieces of scrap fabric. Cut the fabric into petal shapes once the glue dries.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the 1-inch twisted portions of the petals around another pipe cleaner. Attach the petals to one end of the pipe cleaner stem by twisting it around petals and itself. You can leave the stem as it is or wrap it in floral tape.

  4. Step 4

Decorate your pipe cleaner flower by gluing sequins, pompoms or small beads to the petals and stem. You can add leaves to the stem with other pipe cleaners the same way you made the petals. Wrap the 1-inch twisted portion of the leaf cutouts around the stem.
