An easy way to draw attention to your pedicure and your best open toed shoes, toenail decals are a great way to get noticed. Here's how to apply the decals.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scissors
  • A small plate or shallow dish
  • Water
  • Tweezers
  • Decals
  1. Step 1

Allow your first coats of nail polish to dry thoroughly before you begin applying your decals, otherwise they will not adhere correctly and you could end up smudging or denting your nail color.

  2. Step 2

Cut out your decal design, leaving only a little bit of room around the edges of the design. Toenails will often use smaller designs than those used on fingernails so make sure the design you are choosing will fit nicely on the toenail.

  3. Step 3

Place a drop of water onto a plate, shallow dish, or a table top. Set your decal into the water paper side down. Allow 10 to 15 seconds for the water to saturate the decal. Separate the decal from the paper by using tweezers to remove the decal from the water.

  4. Step 4

Set your decal on top of your nail in the desired position. The decal will remain movable as long as it is still wet. This will only last a short period of time though before the decal becomes too tacky.

  5. Step 5

Remove air and water from underneath the decal by pressing a tissue directly onto the decal. This removes excess water & air bubbles so the decal can adhere to the toenail. Allow it to dry.

  6. Step 6

Apply a topcoat of nail polish to the decal and let it dry. Once dry, apply a final topcoat to your pedicure to seal in the decal and the initial layers of polish.
