When you give yourself a pedicure, painting your toes seems easy enough. But it can often lead to annoyance because the nails aren't as smooth and even as you want them to be, or you end up with polish in places where it doesn't belong. Have no fear, there's hope to getting the perfect pedicure polished look on your toes, and it won't have you pulling your hair out in frustration.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin your pedicure by removing excess oils from the skin with acetone remover.

  2. Step 2

Push in the cuticles on the toes to make sure they aren't exposed.

  3. Step 3

Polish the entire nail with a thin base coat using only three strokes, one down the middle and then one on each side. Keep your strokes smooth and quick.

  4. Step 4

Apply two coats of top color on the nails using the same method you used with the base coat. Wait a few minutes after applying the first coat of color before you apply the second.

  5. Step 5

Add a thin, quick-drying top coat to the nails and let them dry.

  6. Step 6

Remove excess polish with an orangewood stick wrapped in cotton and dipped in acetone remover.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to polish the entire nail from top to bottom and on the sides. It can be easy to miss the crevices and corners.
  • Give your nails proper time to dry between coats during the pedicure. The last thing you want is to have bumpy, bubbly-looking nails.
  • Don't paint the cuticles. If you do however, it's not a problem since you remove the excess color with the orangewood stick.
