Step 1
Review the policies of the paintball field where you'll be playing. The availability of HPA stations varies from location to location, as do rules regarding their use.
-
Step 2
Verify that the tank on your paintball gun hasn't expired. The date on the tank lets you know that it is still in good working condition. If your tank has expired, have it checked by a professional before you refill it.
-
Step 3
Check the rating of your tank against the rating of the system you're using to refill your tank. They must match to be safe. If you try to fill your tank with a system that uses higher pressure than your tank can handle, it could fail.
-
Step 4
Remove the cover from the fill nipple on your tank.
-
Step 5
Attach the whip to the nipple by pulling the collar of the whip down, slide the whip onto your tank nipple and release the collar.
-
Step 6
Give the whip a gentle tug to make sure it's properly seated before you start the filling process.
-
Step 7
Hold on to the whip and fill the tank by pressing and holding the button on the filling station, or manipulating the lever, whichever is appropriate. Stop filling when your gauge shows that the tank is filled to capacity and replace your nipple cover.
