Things You'll Need:

  • Thin elastic
  • Quarter
  • Volunteer
  1. Step 1

Loop a thin piece of elastic around your fingers.

  2. Step 2

Ask the audience for a quarter from someone's pocket. Ask the audience for a volunteer to come up on stage with you. Take the quarter, showing the audience it's just a normal quarter. Ask the volunteer to confirm that it's just a regular quarter.

  3. Step 3

Place the quarter into the palm of your hand, making sure the elastic is on the top of it.

  4. Step 4

Flip the coin onto the volunteer's hand so the elastic is on the bottom of the quarter by pressing your hand on top on the volunteer's hand.

  5. Step 5

Remove your hand slowly, pretending to levitate your hand over the volunteer's hand. Pretend to concentrate very hard. You're pretending to use your telekinetic ability to make the quarter hop.

  6. Step 6

Move the elastic away from the quarter with a slight hand movement after a few seconds of intense concentration. Note how the quarter jumps. You have looped the elastic around your fingers, easy to hide from the spectator and the audience.

  7. Step 7

Invite the volunteer to examine the quarter and reassure the audience that it is just a quarter.
