How to Attach Line to a Kite
Attaching line to a kite is the important first step to a great kite flying experience. An improperly attached line will throw off the balance of the kite, making it difficult or even impossible to keep airborne. Attaching a line to a kite begins with a lark's-head knot.
Instructions

1
Tie a loop in the end of the kite string about 2 inches in length. Do not unravel the kite string too far, as all you really need is about 6 inches of exposed string to tie and connect your knots.
-
2
Pull the two strings of the loop back through to form another loop that can slide for tightening.
-
-
3
Put the loop of your lark's-head knot over the knotted end of the bridle of the single line on the kite and pull to tighten.
-
4
Slide the lark's-head knot down the line so it fits snuggly against the knot at the end of the bridle for a single line kite.
-
5
Use the lark's-head knot on any type of kite to ensure a securely tied line. This includes power kites and stunt kites.

Tips & Warnings
Attach the plastic clip on the end of the kite string to the plastic clip on the end of the bridle for a single-line kite. These types of clips usually come with ready to assemble kite-flying kits. No knot tying is actually necessary when clips are present.
Reattach kite lines to broken clip ends by using the steps mentioned above. This will allow you to keep using your kite even if the original clips become damaged.
