Before you begin kitesurfing, you need to inflate your kite. Inflating a kite is a simple process and, depending on the size, it should not take more than a few minutes. Once this step is done, you're ready to enjoy the thrill of kitesurfing.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Buy a dual action pump or use the pump that came with the kite. You'll cut the time needed to inflate the kite by using the dual pump. You can find these in any sporting goods store.
Step2
Insert the pump into the kite's valve. If it's a manual hand pump, pump up and down until the kite is filled with air. You'll have to test the firmness of the kite several times to know whether or not it's ready for use.
Step3
Seal the valve. After the kite reaches the desired firmness, close the valve to make sure that it does not lose any air.
Step4
Grab the sail once it is inflated. You are going to move it towards the wind in order to prevent it from blowing away until you're ready to launch.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have an air compressor available, you can use this to inflate the kite.
  • Many newer kites have a single point of inflation. This feature allows you to inflate the kite even quicker.
