Step 1
Be comfortable with your ollie before attempting a boardslide.
-
Step 2
Set your rail to the lowest setting or find the lowest rail at a skate park to practice your boardslide. It is best to learn this trick on a rail before trying it on a ramp edge or the coping of a box or half-pipe.
-
Step 3
Approach one end of the rail at a comfortable speed with your feet in the normal skating position over the bolts of the trucks.
-
Step 4
Pop the ollie to land on the rail while turning your shoulders 90 degrees to face the rail. This will automatically turn your feet and your board so that the middle of the board lands on the rail.
-
Step 5
Slide the board down the length of the rail, keeping your body evenly balanced. When you reach the rail's end, turn your shoulders back to the original position, which will then turn your hips, feet and board forward so you can skate away from the rail.
