Step 1
Use between 1 to 1 and 1/4 cups of henna. Make sure the henna is dry and sifted before using.
-
Step 2
Take two single packets of instant coffee and boil them in 1.5 cups of water until the liquid reduces to 3/4 cups of coffee. Mix the coffee into the henna powder to make a thick paste.
-
Step 3
Blend the coffee and henna mixture well to make the homemade henna paste. The hot coffee could make the henna powder clump together and become difficult to separate so mix the paste until it is blended and smooth.
-
Step 4
Add some lemon juice and essential oils to the henna paste. Add around five drops of eucalyptus oil and five drops of clove oil and continue blending.
-
Step 5
Let the paste sit and cool for abut 2 hours. If it's too thick, add some water to help thin it but be careful not to make it too thin.
-
Step 6
Store unused henna paste tightly sealed in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. It can be stored in the freezer for around 2 months. Warm it up before using it again for an art project.
