How to Remove a Fake Mustache

Putting a fake mustache on is the fun part. Taking it off is what's known as the headache. The adhesive can be very strong, and you need to take a few precautions to get out of that sticky situation. Just follow these steps to learn how to remove a fake mustache without losing your hair.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Wash hands thoroughly before you remove the fake mustache.

  2. Step 2

    Decide what type of adhesive remover you want to use. You can use mineral oil, alcohol or buy a special solution to remove the mustache. If you have really sensitive skin, you can buy a special adhesive remover made especially for sensitive skin.

  3. Step 3

    Place a liberal amount of adhesive remover on a cotton swab and begin at the edge of the mustache. Apply the remover and gently pull the mustache away from the skin.

  4. Step 4

    Take your time. You don't want to hurt yourself as you're peeling the mustache off. Work slowly and lift the mustache as you continue to apply more adhesive remover.

  5. Step 5

    Apply the adhesive remover to your face after the mustache is removed. This will get rid of any spirit gum or other adhesive residue that may still be attached to your face.

  6. Step 6

    Cleanse your face after the adhesive is removed and apply some moisturizer so you want dry out your skin.

  • Apply a warm towel to your face after removing the fake mustache to help rejuvenate the skin and add color and moisture back to the area that had the mustache.
