Some men like to cut their own hair so they can get it styled just the way they want it. Other men like to go to the local barber or a salon to get their hair polished and cut perfectly. If you are asked to cut your man's hair, your dad's hair or best male friend's hair with a razor, here is how you can do it correctly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Wash and clean the man's hair so that it is wet for cutting. Wet hair is much easier to cut then dry hair and easier to style in the end. Use a good shampoo and conditioner for hair health.
Step2
Start by combing the top of the man's hair over to the side. Then comb up under and on top so that the piece of hair you are about to cut with a razor is smooth.
Step3
Hold the piece of hair and use tension when you apply the razor and cut. Talk to your client about how short they want their hair right from the beginning to avoid disappointment.
Step4
Always mix up the hair to make sure you have enough texture and work your way around the man's head. Make sure you make the same length of a cut each time around the head. Work from the bottom to the top, and when your reach the top, elevate the cuts so you do not cut the same area twice.
Step5
Always keep your client's hair wet and work your way to the back. Lift the hair when you move up the skull and always check the hair in the mirror. Move to the front of the hair and use light pressure in the bang area. You can use medium tension for the rest of the head.
