Use your trampoline to practice doing back handsprings. You can combine the jumping motion of the trampoline and the skills of gymnastics. Use these tips to do back handsprings on a trampoline in a safe way and get the exercise you need.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get comfortable on the trampoline before you start. Bounce a few times so that you can get an idea of how high you will bounce when you do your back handspring.

  2. Step 2

Find someone to spot you before you start. You want to be safe by having someone help you through the flipping motion and to ensure that you won't fall off of the trampoline.

  3. Step 3

Think about what you want to do. Visualize it before you start so that you know exactly how you will be jumping and where you will be landing.

  4. Step 4

Stand straight with your legs and feet together facing away from the middle of the trampoline.

  5. Step 5

Stretch your arms out high above your head as if you were reaching for the sky. Bring your arms forward and bend your knees.

  6. Step 6

Jump up, arching your back in a backward flipping motion. Swing your arms back as you jump so that your hands swing over your head and they land firmly on the trampoline behind you.

  7. Step 7

Swing your body completely through the backward motion so that you land back on your feet again.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your back straight when you start. Arch it as you jump.
  • Don't try this without a spotter or a trampoline coach because you can seriously harm yourself.
