Things You'll Need:
- Wrapped package
- Wide flat ribbon
- Scissors
- Thin flat ribbon
- Clear adhesive tape
-
Step 1
Hold the ribbon flat across the top of the package. Flip the package over and with both hands take the ribbon down the horizontal sides. Pull the ribbon around the bottom until both side meet.
-
Step 2
Cross the ribbon over itself. Change directions to lead the ribbon up the vertical sides and across the top of the package to the center. Tie a tight knot and cut the ribbon from the roll leaving enough extra to tie the bow.
-
Step 3
Measure out two different types of ribbons. Cut 3 to 4 feet of ribbon at an angle to form the gift bow. Then cut about 6 inches of the thin ribbon to tie the gift bow together.
-
Step 4
Hold one end of the ribbon in between the index finger and thumb. Make a loop. Grab the end of that loop under the thumb then twist it to make a loop on the other side.
-
Step 5
Repeat the process until there are 5 to 6 loops on each side. The loops must all be held in the center between the index finger and thumb.
-
Step 6
Secure the loops in the center of the bow. Tie a thinner piece of ribbon tight around the center of the bow. Double-knot it. Fluff up all of the loops for a full look.
-
Step 7
Attach the gift bow to the package. Use the excess ribbon to tie the bow in the center. Alternatively, the wrapper may affix the bow to the package using clear adhesive tape.
