There are dozens of ways to throw a Frisbee. But before you can master trick shots you had better learn the basics. Perhaps the best place to start is the forward throw. This throw is the easiest to learn and most used by Frisbee fanatics. Master this simple throw by reading the following steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin with a relaxed and comfortable stance, keeping your knees slightly bent and your feet shoulder width apart.

  2. Step 2

Grasp the Frisbee (with your left or right hand) holding it with your thumb on top and fingers underneath on the edge of the Frisbee rim. Position both the thumb and fingers at a 45-degree angle.

  3. Step 3

Hold the Frisbee with a relaxed (but not too relaxed) grip. Holding it too tight or too loose will affect your release, making it difficult to control.

  4. Step 4

Cock your wrist by flexing it, while holding the Frisbee sideways. Keep the wrist firm enough to hold the Frisbee in place yet loose enough to allow for free movement during the next phase of the throw.

  5. Step 5

Prepare to throw to your target by bending your elbow 90 degrees and bringing the Frisbee back towards the opposite shoulder you are throwing with.

  6. Step 6

Bend forward slightly at the waist as you step towards your target with your lead leg (right leg for a right-hander, left leg for lefties). As you step, swing your arm forward and release the Frisbee towards your target.
