A tall flower arrangement looks great on or near the entryway to your home. It provides a focal point and enhances your decorating scheme. A tall flower arrangement is quick and easy to make. Follow these steps to make a tall flower arrangement.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a large vase or pot that complements your decorating scheme. For example, if you have Spanish architecture, use a Mexican pot.

  2. Step 2

Choose a combination of silk greenery and silk flowers for your tall flower arrangement. This mix allows you to change the flowers in your arrangement to suit the seasons or holidays while keeping the greenery the same.

  3. Step 3

Place a block of florist foam at the bottom of your vase or pot. If you can't fit a large enough block through the hole, cut the block into pieces and wedge them into the bottom of your vase or pot.

  4. Step 4

Pick a tall green shrub, such as a cypress, for the centerpiece of your tall flower arrangement. Make sure it's at least as tall as your pot or vase once you put it in the arrangement. Choose bulky flowers, such as hydrangeas, to place around the bottom of your cypress.

  5. Step 5

Stick the greenery or shrub of your arrangement down into the foam in the base of your vase or pot and adjust it till sturdy. Place more foam around the greenery at the top of the pot to hold it in place. Glue florist moss to the top of the foam, if needed, to hide the foam.

  6. Step 6

Add your flowers around the top of the pot at the base of your greenery by sticking the stems down into the foam to hold them in place. Use wire cutters to trim your flowers as needed.

  7. Step 7

Use grapes, feathers or other colorful objects for decorating texture. There are no rules--feel free to be creative.
