Instructions

    • 1

Grate your Parmesan and Romano cheeses. Start with one and a half cups of the Parmesan. Grate as much Romano cheese as you would like in your Alfredo sauce. Pour a cup of heavy cream and add one-half cup of butter into a nonstick pan.

    • 2

Heat on low until the butter melts. Stir into the saucepan the Parmesan cheese, some Romano cheese to taste, 1/2 tsp. of salt and a dash of black pepper. Continue to heat the pan until the sauce has slightly thickened.

    • 3

Remove the saucepan from the heat to add your pasta. Toss the pasta to coat it with the Alfredo sauce. Place the saucepan back onto the stove. Heat the Alfredo sauce for another minute or until it has completely thickened.

    • 4

Serve the fettuccine Alfredo sauce with your pasta. This recipe makes about six servings.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can experiment with your Alfredo sauce by using cream cheese instead of heavy cream. If your sauce becomes too thick, thin it by adding a little milk.

  • Feel free to add other seasonings to flavor your fettuccine Alfredo sauce. Some recipes call for nutmeg, white pepper, minced garlic or garlic powder.

  • Don't let the sauce boil, or it will thicken too much and then separate.
