Fake eyelashes add an alluring sex appeal to any eyes. The smoky drama and flirtatious fluttering tips have the ability to turn heads and drop jaws. However, properly trimming fake lashes is the key to creating a naturally sexy look with an artificial accessory. Read on to learn how to trim fake eyelashes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fake eyelashes
  • Tweezers
  • Cuticle scissors
  1. Step 1

Put down the glue and back away from the eyeliner. You absolutely must trim the lashes before applying them to your eyelids.

  2. Step 2

Peel the right eyelash off the case using the tweezers. Begin peeling from the outside corner of the lash—just in case you damage any of the lashes in the process of removing them. You will trim them from this end, the outside corner.

  3. Step 3

Stick the right lash on your finger and hold it up to your right eye to get a good feel for how much needs trimmed. Look at the width of the lashes compared to the width of your natural eyelash line. Keep in mind that trimming is usually necessary, so this is an important part of wearing fake eyelashes. Remove the eyelash from your eye and hold it on your finger.

  4. Step 4

Trim small amounts at a time, using cuticle scissors. Start with 20 lashes and snip a few at a time until you reach the desired width. Twenty may sound like a lot, but it really equals about 1/8 of an inch. To trim the length, turn your scissors so they snip into the lashes at an angle, rather than straight across.

  5. Step 5

Apply the right eyelashes to your right eye using eyelash glue.

  6. Step 6

Repeat the measuring and trimming process with the left eyelash. Remember to peel the left lashes from the case starting from the outside corner.

Tips & Warnings
  • Trim the lashes to half-width and apply to just the outer corners of your eyes for an added touch that is subtle, yet sexy.
