Facials help rejuvenate and restore skin. After you have chosen the type of facial you want, the next step is creating the perfect atmosphere in which to give yourself, your clients or your friends a facial. Relaxation and comfort is your goal when thinking of the type of atmosphere you want for your spa or your home. Read on to learn how to create the perfect atmosphere for facials.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Use soft lighting in the room where you'll be giving a facial to yourself or someone else. Install a dimmer to have the freedom to play with the amount of light allowed in the room. Consider turning off all the lights, and burning candles instead.
Step2
Play soothing, quiet music to create the perfect atmosphere. New age or classical music subconsciously slows breathing, relaxes tense muscles, and helps keep negative thoughts from your mind. Stick with instrumental music.
Step3
Appeal to your sense of smell with effective aromatherapy and candle scents. Use essential oils like lavender or bergamot in your facial to promote relaxation. Burn a chamomile or jasmine-scented candle.
Step4
Show off a small water fountain, with the tranquil sounds of dripping water playing in the background.
Step5
Provide a small snack before and after the facial. Green tea or dark chocolate can have a soothing effect on you or the person who's getting the facial. For most people, this is the special touch to make the atmosphere seem even more perfect.

Tips & Warnings

  • Pay attention to the room temperature. Anything too hot or too cold can turn a relaxing facial into an uncomfortable shiver- or sweat-fest.
