How to Remove Eyeshadow Smudges

Eyeshadow smudges are a common pet peeve among makeup wearers. It can ruin the rest of your makeup and cause you to have to start over if you're not careful. The key is to remove the smudges without messing up the rest of your makeup, and without making the smudges look worse. Try any or all of the following suggestions and decide what works best for you.

Instructions

1. Dab a small amount of liquid foundation on the tip of a makeup sponge and use it as an eraser. If you use too much foundation, it will be too heavy. Start off with barely a dab and gently remove the smudge with the edge of the sponge.

2. Moisten a cotton swab with a small amount of oil-free eye makeup remover. Use a blotting motion to push the cotton swab into the smudge softly. Don't rub or smear the smudge.

3. Invest in a product created to remove makeup mistakes, like Revlon's Makeup Eraser Pen. The product should specify that it removes long-wearing and waterproof makeup. Use it as you would a pencil eraser, but more gently.

Tips & Warnings

• Prevent future smudges by using foundation or applying eye base makeup before eyeshadow. The eyeshadow will stick to it better, and not fall loose around your eyes, creating smudges.

• Don't use your finger to try to remove a smudge. It will make a bigger mess than you started with.
