Powdered eyeliner is applied under the eyes often to create a more subtle and natural effect than the usual pencil. You can use one of your eyeshadow colors as an eyeliner this way if you have a precision-tipped, small eyeliner brush. A damp brush is recommended for the upper lid for a more defined look. Using a dry brush for eyeliner under the eyes keeps it looking natural. Read on to learn how to apply powdered eyeliner under the eyes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Dab your fine-tipped, angle eyeliner brush into your powdered eyeliner and tap off any excess on the rim of the makeup container. Place your brush under the lash line, as close as possible to your lash roots, about one-third of the way in from your inner eye, to prevent creating raccoon eyes.

  2. Step 2

Apply eyeliner only to the outer two-thirds of your lower lid with one stroke towards the outer eye. Keep the line as thin as possible.

  3. Step 3

Meet the upper lid eyeliner at the outer corner of your eye.

  4. Step 4

Reapply color on the outer third of the line if you have bigger eyes and want a thicker line. Smaller eyes look best with thin lines.

Tips & Warnings
  • Lower lid color should be less intense or lighter than upper lid eyeliner.
  • If you can't keep your hand steady, sit down and use a table or counter as a prop for your elbow to avoid uneven lines under your eyes.
  • Avoid applying eyeliner to the inside rim of your eyes. It will smear faster and is unhealthy for eyes.
