Instructions

    • 1

Place approximately 1 oz. of quality chocolate syrup in the bottom of a 12 oz. cup. You can purchase this syrup at chocolate retailers or any local coffee bar.

    • 2

Brew espresso without an espresso machine by adding 1/4 cup of your favorite coffee to your coffee maker. Use 1/2 cup of cold water and brew as you normally would. The result will be slightly less than 1/2 cup of espresso.

    • 3

Pour in one shot glass of brewed espresso. If you want you can add more than one, but most purchased mochas are traditionally made with one shot of espresso.

    • 4

Fill your mug nearly to the top with steamed milk. While mocha espresso drinks do not generally incorporate foamed milk, you can foam yours by whipping vigorously if you desire.

    • 5

Top off your espresso drink with a generous serving of whipped cream.

    • 6

Drizzle your mocha espresso drink lightly with more chocolate syrup.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can leave off the whipped cream and chocolate drizzles if you choose. Or, add chocolate shavings to create an even fancier espresso drink, perfect for entertaining.
