1
Lay your delta kite on its back and walk toward the wind, paying out 100 to 150 feet of line. Fly the two-line kite using fixed lines. Make sure they are equal in length and tie them off to the handles.
-
2
Bring the kite to a standing position by pulling the lines tight. When you feel the wind pressing against it, launch the kite by taking a couple of steps back while pulling on the lines. If you have long lines or if the ground winds are weak, you may need an assistant to hold the kite for a higher launch.

3
Guide the kite higher by using the rhythm of your body. Take a step forward, relaxing the lines without losing height. Step back and pull firmly, bringing your arms down and you'll see the kite rise. Move gracefully or dance as you fly your kite.
-
4
Pull gently on the right string and watch the kite turn to the right. Pull harder while easing off on the left and the kite will dip toward the ground. Reverse this, pulling on the left and pushing the right and the kite will turn back up and to the left.
-
5
Practice these movements until you gain control over your delta kite. Keep a rhythm in your steps and arm motions and soon you'll be turning full loops and racing figure eights across the sky.

Tips & Warnings
You can add tails for stability but remember to keep them balanced.
It's harder to control your kite in strong, gusty winds. Fly a delta in light to moderate wind.
