How to Give a Deep Tissue Massage to the Face
The human face constantly endures dirty, hot, dry or chemically irritating environments. The face holds tension and is the first part of the body to reveal a lack of sleep. Correcting all the damage requires proper care. Learning to give a deep tissue massage to your face can bring back the glow and leave your skin healthy once again.

1
Choose unscented facial massage oil. Not only can it put moisture back into your face, it will keep you from over-stretching the sensitive skin around the eyes and mouth.
-
2
Start under your chin and stroke up and out, using medium pressure. Smooth out the skin along the jaw line and then work up to under your ears, massaging your ears gently as well. Use circular strokes on your cheeks and under and above your lips.

3
Pretend you're typing and lightly tap your fingers under, above and around your eyes. If you have long nails, close your eyes and use extra caution with this step.
-
4
Stroke from the center of your forehead and work out toward your temples using short, circular movements. Spend a bit of time on the eyebrows and along the hairline.
-
5
Repeat the entire process until the oil is absorbed into your skin. Remember to use enough pressure to penetrate deep into the fibers of the muscles, but not enough to cause pain.

Tips & Warnings
If you're giving someone else's face a deep tissue massage, use both thumbs on the forehead and along the jaw line, but use the flat fingers method on other areas.
