Step 1
Find and remove your jack, new tire and tools from your car before you are ready to change your tire. Your spare tire will be in the trunk in most cases and probably alongside your jack and tools. Take them out and place them close to the flat tire.
-
Step 2
Make sure your car is in park and the emergency brake is on before working on removing your flat tire. This brake will prevent any accidents or personal injuries from happening.
-
Step 3
Loosen all the lug nuts on the tire. Then you can use the jack to jack up the car. Use your tools to loosen the lug nuts. Then carefully remove the lug nuts and place them to the side.
-
Step 4
Remove the flat tire from the car and place it to the side of you. Now lift up the new tire and place it on the car carefully without straining yourself. Bend when you are doing this motion so you do not hurt your back.
-
Step 5
Place all the lug nuts back on the tire and tighten them with your tools. Make sure they are very tight to avoid having another flat tire. Rotate the wheel around. Now lower the jack until your car is back onto the ground.
