Things You'll Need:
- Paint restorer
- Electric polisher
-
Step 1
Buy a good quality paint renovator or restorer at an auto supply store. Borrow or purchase a circular polisher or buffer.
-
Step 2
Apply a small amount of the renovator directly onto the scratch area.
-
Step 3
Make sure you have either a new polishing pad, or one that was only used with this product. Attach it to the polisher, and set the speed at or below 1200 rpm.
-
Step 4
Press the polisher over the scratch area, and turn on the polisher. Rotate around the scratch. Move the pad over a different area using a figure eight pattern. Tilt the circular polisher slightly to one side and work with the outer edge of the pad.
-
Step 5
Remove the polisher from the car's surface after only 30 seconds to 1 minute, and repeat the process again if the scratch is still visible.
