Breakdancing technique and style depends on the smoothness and naturalness of your transitions. Even the most difficult and impressive moves look awkward and choppy if they lack solid transitions. To work the right breakdancing transitions between your breakdancing moves, follow these steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Transition from your six-step by placing your right hand across your body and on the ground after you complete the six-step. Once both hands are planted, lift yourself into your pose or move for a smooth and clean transition.

  2. Step 2

Use a knee drop to make the transition from a standing position to a downrock. Sweep your left leg to the back of your right knee to make a figure four. Quickly bend your right knee to fall to the ground. Inch your left toe in front of your right knee so you land on the toes of your left foot rather than on your knee.

  3. Step 3

Coin drop to transition from a toprock into a backspin or windmill. To coin drop, shift your weight from your left leg to your right as you twist your upper body. Plant your hands on the ground as you turn and let your legs fly up to finish the twist that your upper body began. Lower yourself by bending your elbows and allowing one shoulder to touch the ground. Drop into a windmill or backspin from this position to complete the transition.
