Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Align yourself with the two pin. If you are utilizing hook bowling, then alignment would be moving three boards to the right from the center. This will allow your hook to walk right up to the two pin. If you are a straight bowler, then simply placing your body in front of the two pin constitutes alignment.
-
Step 2
Relax into your ready position. Remember to keep your knees slightly bent, let your shoulders relax gently, stay nimble and keep the ball near the hip of your corresponding bowling hand.
-
Step 3
Make your approach to the lane. Some professional bowlers take one step, while others take as many as eight. This is all about pure comfort. Determine what feels natural for your body and repeat that amount of steps every time you bowl. Most bowlers use between two and four steps.
-
Step 4
Let the ball fly down the lane and crush the two pin. No matter which way you bowl, a straight wrist is the key to success. Think of your forearm and wrist as one piece, as if the wrist is not jointed. Make sure to high-five your friends on the way back to your seat. After all, you just picked-up a spare.
