Step 1
Make sure you have enough speed when doing a full cab BMX trick. Go too slow and you won't get the momentum or air time you need to do the trick; go too fast and you could lose control of your bike. With enough momentum, you won't have to rely on muscle to do a full cab BMX trick, but instead on the flick of your wrists to perform the spin.
-
Step 2
Use a quarter pipe to learn the trick. This helps you to establish the proper momentum. It is also, you'll find, easier to control the speed on a quarter pipe.
-
Step 3
Roll part-way up the quarter pipe and allow your bike to roll backward. Pedal to help maintain the speed at which you're rolling backwards when beginning the full cab BMX trick.
-
Step 4
Flick your wrists to turn the handlebars around as you pop the front wheel off the ground. Look where you're going as you do a full cab BMX trick. Your bike will turn about 180 degrees.
-
Step 5
Pedal backwards and turn the handlebars so you're facing front. You can finish the full cab BMX trick with another hop and spin of the handlebars.
-
Step 6
Practice the full cab BMX trick at varying speeds. After a while, you'll find you'll be able to increase the speed at which you travel backward off the half pipe. Keep in mind, as the full cab BMX trick is pretty quick in itself, you'll need to get it down before getting the timing of a faster approach.
