How to Do a 360 Bunny Hop on BMX Bikes

For BMX riders, doing a 360 at high speeds over big doubles can be a blast, but if you don't know what you're doing, a 360 can also be dangerous. Before attempting anything on a jump, practice with a bunny hop 360 on flat ground first. You don't need a lot of air to practice the rotation, and once you can pull a clean 360 at slow speeds, you'll be ready to try this trick at the park.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Get up some momentum on your bike by riding on a flat surface.
Step2
Prepare to do a bunny hop, which is simply catching some air by using your upper body to lift up the front wheel while your legs lift up the back of the bike.
Step3
Go into the bunny hop and make a quick hard turn with the front wheel as you get into the air. You can turn to the left or right depending on which you're more comfortable with.
Step4
Remember, your body follows your head, so look down over your shoulder as you turn rather than looking up. If you look up, your front wheel will go up, too, and you want the bike to remain level during the rotation.
Step5
Keep your knees bent during the spin and bring the bike around to do a complete 360 turn while in the air.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't start turning too soon before you jump. You want to turn really fast off your front wheel to get the most momentum.
