Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Find high G. Place your index finger on the fifth fret and your ring finger on the seventh fret. It is important to keep your index finger in the same spot, while the other finger movements are going on.
Step2
Pluck the fifth fret with your index finger, keeping it in the same place on the fret, while hammering the seventh fret with your ring finger. It should make two notes from one pluck. This is the hammer on to pull-off technique. This is the first part of the entire technique. Practice it a few times to make sure you can do it fluidly, while other things are going on.
Step3
Keep your index finger on the fifth fret, for the second part of the hammer on pull-off technique. Use your ring finger to pull off from the seventh fret. This completes the pull off portion of the technique. Practice this a few times as well to make sure you have it down smoothly.
Step4
Put the two steps together to create the entire technique. This technique will require some practice to achieve smooth movements and be able to work into other techniques and songs. If you find yourself getting lost, start back at step one and work through it again.
