Step 1
Step forward with your right leg if you're right-handed, and spin forcefully to the left to break your attacker's grip on your right arm. Switch directions if you're left-handed.
-
Step 2
Rotate your left hand as you complete your spin in order to grasp your attacker's left wrist. You will use this grip for balance and momentum.
-
Step 3
Kick your assailant's ribs with your left leg, using a basic sidekick. Pull him into your kick with your left hand. If you're not flexible enough to kick just under his armpit, kick to his waist.
-
Step 4
Try an alternate technique to escape from a rear double-wrist grab if your attacker's grip on your wrists is too strong to break with a spin. Bring your arms sharply forwards and as high as you can. This places stress on your attacker's thumbs, the weakest part of his grip.
-
Step 5
Step backwards and into your attacker, putting him off balance. Pull your arms in front of your chest as you do so, reducing his leverage.
-
Step 6
Shift your weight to the side and immediately elbow him in the solar plexus, knocking the wind out of your attacker. Move quickly to safety as soon as he releases his grip.
