When you clean walls in your house, it can seem like a daunting task with no end in sight. Fingerprints, smudges and marks can be nearly impossible to remove. With quality cleaning agents and a little elbow grease, you can have clean walls in very little time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Remove all pictures or wall hangings from the wall so as to prepare the wall for cleaning. Doing this in advance will save you a lot of time when you're ready to clean the walls in your house.

  2. Step 2

Lightly dust with a feather duster or an old cloth along the walls to remove any dust bunnies. This will help avoid making dirt streaks on the walls when you clean them and will also make this chore go faster.

  3. Step 3

Open any windows near the area that you will be working to allow for proper ventilation. Do this before you start to clean walls in your house so that air can start circulating. Also, cover the floor area with newspaper or old cloths to protect it.

  4. Step 4

Put on a cloth mask to cover your nose and mouth so as to not inhale any dust or cleaning solution while you're working. Get a ladder to use to reach high areas.

  5. Step 5

Mix an equal part solution of water and a disinfecting cleaning solution. Also set aside another bucket of clear water and a separate cloth or sponge that you will use for rinsing.

  6. Step 6

Start at the top of the wall and using a thick cloth or sponge, wet it with the cleaning solution and rub in circular motions along the wall, working your way downwards. When you reach the bottom of that section of the wall, repeat the process. After the second washing, rinse the wall with the sponge and clear water. Allow the wall to air dry.
