In every balloon modeler's bag of tricks are some wearable balloon hats. While each entertainer has their own style and unique creativity, all beginners must start somewhere. A basic balloon bike helmet shape can be worn as is, or can be used as the base for a number of wild balloon hats. So, with a few balloons and some simple twists, you'll have this hat down pat in no time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 long balloons
  1. Step 1

Fill a balloon all the way up and make a small bubble at the knotted end. While holding the bubble, wrap the balloon around your head for the right fit and twist the balloon and bubble together.

  2. Step 2

Make another small bubble at the free end of your balloon. Bring the loose balloon piece to the opposite end of the loop and twist the bubble around the balloon to complete your hat base.

  3. Step 3

Fill up another long balloon in a contrasting color leaving no extra space at the end. Double the balloon and make a twist in the center. Twist the center of your new long balloon onto the smooth, round bubble of your hat base.

  4. Step 4

Twist a small bubble at one loose end of your second balloon and twist the bubble onto the knotted bubble of your hat base. Repeat on the other side, making a small bubble on the other loose end and twisting it onto the knotted bubble of the base hat to finish your bike helmet.

  5. Step 5

Wear your balloon bike helmet as is, or elaborate with more balloons as you wish to create your own unique hat creation.
